Big Birds

Hello again, You.
So since you asked me about the photo on my profile, here's the 411. In June I was in Doha, Qatar, visiting my friends who both work for Al Jazeera. We went on a camping trip in the desert. Some of us found it difficult to sleep, so at 4 a.m. Ramzy and I went cruising around, leaving Reem, his sister, fast asleep. We discovered three ostriches, which are not endemic to Qatar at all, and in fact had escaped from someone's private zoo. At first we photographed them from a distance, creeping up slowly . Half an hour later we were doing close ups on our fine feathered friends, who were perfectly tame. They seemed sad to see Ramzy go, and followed us back to our camp. By 5 a.m. it was too hot, around 40 degrees C, so we headed back to the city. I miss you, Reem and Ramzy, and our big birds too.
